Set-up of system

To measure the turning behaviour of a bird, the temperature of an egg in a nest or the turning/temperature in an incubator, the following is required:
Prices estimates shown where applicable.

• A 3D-printed egg (consisting of two halves that can be screwed on each other). Different egg-size/egg-colour versions are available. The prices of the eggs are mainly driven by the 3D-printing material costs. See the table in specification.

• An EggLogger Printed Circuit Board (PCB). The price of the egglogger is €200, covering all material costs and a small compensation for the manual assembling costs.

• A USB-interface, specifically designed for the EggLogger. (Only one USB-device is required to service a multiple of EggLoggers.) The price of the stick is €60.

• A USB to micro-USB cable. (Only one cable is required to service a multiple of EggLoggers.). This is a standard cable. It can be bought in many stores.

• A Coin-cell battery Type BR1225 or CR1225. Can be bought in many stores.

• A Laptop or desktop PC with Microsoft Windows 7 or higher installed. The EggLogger interface software is currently only available for the Microsoft Windows operating system. It can be downloaded for free in the Downloads section.
